hello from el conquistador!

Yup, I had cambios! 1 month in Los Cerrillos and I guess I did what I needed to! A super short time, but I loved the people in my sector and will love the people here! I am in the zone Olimpo, it's just the other side of the plaza of Maipu, entonces no tan lejos (then not so far). My companion is hermana Dominguez...again. Nah, a different Dominguez, she is from Spanish Fork Utah. Super super sweet! She has one cambio less than I do so we are here to learn together.

It was sad to leave Primo de Rivera because I was just getting to know the area and people, but I do know that this is God's Plan and I will go where he wants me to go. I am really really happy to be in this new sector. We have a lot to do as always (lol), but we had a lesson this morning with a new investigator and she accepted a fecha for the 30 of agust! golden.

Oh, I also wanted to thank San Ramon 1st ward for my card, I can feel the love! You all are seriously are the best!!

I am literally reading a dictionary right now to help with my spanish vocabulary. hahaha I never thought I would read a dictionary in my life... I guess you do a lot of things on the mission that you never thought you would do!

I know this church is true! I know Christ is OUR Savior.

temple

Okay, I don't remember if you remember Kiara, la niña from El Manzano, but she was baptized last sunday!!!!! AH I can't believe it :) :) :) :) mi watona!! This family are rockstars! My joy is so full, but I am a little sad I wasn't able to attend. Though the important thing is she has accepted the gospel and has made her first covenant with heavenly father.
Okay, so martes I went on divisions with Hermana Pereira, I lived with her in Padre Hurtado. It was so fun to catch up with her and work in Pajaritos!
Thursday we put a fecha with our new investigator Fernando for 10 de agosto!! milagro.
Okay, for saturday... our big and crazy day lol So we had a capacitacion especial (special training from 9 to 11) in republica a las 9 haste 11, then we had a porotada (church activity at 12 where we ate beans) super famous here lol a las 12, and had to be at the temple a las 2. We were literally running for todos los partes (the parties). So we didn't get out of the capacitacion until 1 which was the time we had to leave for the temple. oops. So we called Marco e Isabel and we took the metro to the temple and met up with them. Cualquier (opposition) haha. Satan really didn't want us to go to the temple. We got to the temple and the presidente of the temple explained the baptism font. He talked for like 20 minutes and it was really great for Marco e Isabel to hear it all explained in the temple, it was their first time. He talked about how some of the people whose names were being done died in 1500 and they have been waiting for over 500 years to leave spirit prison. The work we do in the temple is SO important. It went along perfectly with what was talked about in the capacitacion con president; we were talking about how only through baptism with the proper authority can we receive a remission for our sins. Baptism is NECESSARY.
Marco e Isabel were literally glowing in the temple. Marco was so funny when he was being baptized for his abuelo(grandpa) y el tío (uncle) de Isabel. His grin was so big haha. It was such a neat experience and the spirit of elias was so strong! And we had a whole lot of difficulties submitting the names and getting to the temple, but that just made it that much more special. After that we had a late lunch at the church at like 5. They gave us a mountain of beans hahahaha. Mom, I am doing my exercises, but that doesn't discount all of the food I eat... what can I say I am enjoying the mission and they feed us too much:) hahah.
Then we had a lesson with an inactiva, Patricia. We hadn't been able to find her for like 4 weeks, that's a long time in a 6 week cambia lol. But she said the missionaries always seem to find her at the precise time...her husband's mom had just passed away the day before. We talked a lot about how we were literally just in the temple and how president was talking about temple work. Literally, everything we talk about we always use during that day in a lesson. I know that we are literal instruments in this work, it was a really cool experience. She is having a hard time dealing with it all, but we were able to bring the Spirit into her home and I know the spirit touched her heart.

Marco taught principios del evangelic (gospel principles) yesterday and was so nervous, but he was great. It is really cool to see people grow and learn in the gospel.

Be a mission family. There are people in your life waiting to hear the truth.

I love you

ps: all of the pictures of the Thompson family together made me just a little bit trunkie...man our family is so good looking!!

chao! untill next week

Just keep swimming

I don't have a whole lot to say today. This week went by so fast and I swear I am getting old because I can't remember half of the things we did.

Happy Birthday PAPA!

We did find some new people to teach this week which was sweet because we are lacking on people haha. On Saturday we had 5 lessons in 2 hours and a meeting with our ward mission leader and 30 contacts, it was absolutely insane! We were running for all over our sector and our sector is huge!

I did a lot of studying this week on enduring to the end. I read the January Liahona  and wow it is so great, if you get a chance read it! There is a quote that I love, it  says, "What we get during our life is inconsequential but what we become in life makes all the difference". It helps put perspective on life; the things that are important to the world ARE NOT IMPORTANT TO GOD, He looks on the heart. Always make sure your heart is in the right place. DyC 121:7-8 and DyC 122 super super buenos!

Our recent converts are Marco y Isabel, they were baptized in March and they are tan buenos. We had lunch with them on Saturday and they cooked lamb. Ahhh tan rico (so rich)!!

As missionaries, we teach the basics over and over again. It's easy to think "oh yeah, I know that, I want to get into the deep doctrine stuff." I decided to read 1 Nephi 32 over again and wow, I got so much out of it! I can't tell you how many times I have read this chapter lol but we all need to be reminded of the basics.

We did a lot of contacts this week and have a lot of potential investigators which is super great!

Really, this is terrible but I can't remember what happened this week. My companion is super great, helping me a ton with my spanish lol. We do a lot of walking trying to find people who will listen to us hahaha typical mission day.

well, I am sending lots of love!!!

the Lord has a plan

This week literally flew by! I literally can not believe how fast the time is going by. So,  it is really cold here lol but the sun is shining today! Mom and Dad I don't appreciate the trunkie pics of the beach haha. I am doing well chugging along in this sector. There is a lot of work to do here and we are working hard.

We had a miracle yesterday! There is an abuelita (grandma) (Estelita) in our sector, she probably has 86 years. She has a dificult time walking and so her son's ex-wife (Maria) lives with her and takes care of her. IT just so happens that Maria is not a member :) entonces of course we are teaching her and they both were at church yesterday! Maria is so prepared it is amazing. She has such a desire to learn, but it is a little difficult to focus on her because Estelita loves attention. haha But yesterday was the first time Estelita has been to church in a long time. Maria has a baptism date for the 20 of July. Amazing!

We are seeing some fruits from our labor. We have an investigadora se llama (investigator named) Susana. Her husband left her about a year ago and she has 4 kids. The youngest is like 2 and a half. So she is always super busy but she knows that the church is good for her family. She is inteerested in the programs for the youth because oh man does that help during high school haha. We are helping them get involved in activities and yeah, she is really prepared. She has the perfect questions and such faith in God. She knows God sent us to her home to help her find peace.

We got a call Saturday from one of menos activas (less actives) and she was bawling. Her little dog passed away and literally this dog was like her baby. We went to visit with her and comfot her. It was interesting because just the day before we were talking about animals with a different member during our lunch. All animals were created by God. They are also special spirits. Obviously not to the same extent as human beings but if they are spirits before this life isn't there a place for them after? it's an interesting concept... all things were created by God and so all things have life..

Our members were telling us how a second branch was just opened in Cuba. Wow. The second coming is near haha, prepare yourselves now. I have been reading in Doctrine and Covenants every day and so many times it says 'The field is while all ready to harvest'. The work is moving forward so quickly and as missionaries we need the help from members like YOU. Literally, there is NO missionary work without the members. Invite the missionaries over for family home evening; don't be afraid to talk about the gospel with your friends.

I read the '4 minutes talk' in this last general conference and wow I seriously love it. Our life here on Earth is like the 4 minutes of an olympic run. We spent so much time before this life preparing for this, right now, and we will spend an eternity reflecting and how we performed. Your 4 minutes is NOW and the clock is ticking... How are you spending your 4 minutes?

We taught the principios del evangelio (Gospel Principles) class yesterday. Capitulo (chapter) 4 about the organization of the priesthood. Seriously the church is so organized, it's amazing. Look in the scriptures. Everything we have in the goepsl is to help us progress. There are so many stepping stones to help us along the way. If you have some down time, read this book (Preach My Gospel), it is seriously so simple that our investiagtors can understand the basics but there is so much great information for members too. I love it. I love the 1 hour I have everyday to study the gospel. seriously it is my precious cherised time. I often spend nights reading and studying hasta (until) I need to turn the lights off at 10:30 lol

We have Zone conference every change and we talked a lot about How we can become more converted? Conversion is not something we can accomplish. It is something we have to continually work on. We can't get to a point and say 'okay, I am converted'. There is no point, it is progression and we can always be more converted unto the lord. I want to ask you a question: How can we become more converted unto the Gospel and unto Christ?

Mom and Dad I think I will be coming home the 21 of July as well... hahaha. I am not exactly sure, but how cool would that be for both Cole and I to come the SAME DAY!!!!

Much love, enjoy the summer weather

I know that our savior LIVES!

I can just imagine Christ come through these clouds. I have been studying a lot about the second coming and i just fell in love with this image I had to take a picture. Isn't it just beautiful. There is so much beauty in this earth. wow. I am in awe.
